Pentewan Valley Neighbourhood Development Plan opens for public consultation

Residents have until midnight on 10 September to comment on the proposed Neighbourhood Development Plan.

Pentewan Valley residents are being invited to have their say on a proposed Neighbourhood Development Plan that could help shape future planning decisions across the parish.

Cornwall Council has published the submission version of the Pentewan Valley Neighbourhood Development Plan for public consultation under Regulation 16 of the Neighbourhood Planning Regulations. The consultation runs from Wednesday 29 July 2026 until midnight on Wednesday 10 September 2026.

The plan, submitted by Pentewan Parish Council, covers the parish of Pentewan Valley and includes proposed policies on housing, local character, community facilities, transport, the economy, parking and sustainability.

If approved, the plan would become part of the local planning framework and would be used alongside the Cornwall Local Plan when deciding planning applications in the area.

All comments received during the consultation will be passed to an independent examiner, who will consider the plan before any further steps are taken.

Copies of the plan and supporting documents are available through Cornwall Council’s online planning register using the reference PA26/00003/NDP. Cornwall Council says documents will not be made available in other locations, but anyone unable to access them online can contact the neighbourhood planning team by email or telephone.

Comments can only be submitted online through the planning register or by post to Neighbourhood Planning, PO Box 676, Threemilestone, Truro, TR1 9EQ. Email comments will not be accepted.
